01Start safe: hazards, risk and reporting
On your first day in a Dubai warehouse, water is running across a doorway. Keep clear, warn others from a safe place and tell the shift supervisor. Say where the water is and who may walk through it.
Open lesson and practice →02Assess risk: likelihood and severity
A light box stored at floor level and a heavy box stored above a busy aisle may both fall. The likely consequences differ. Consider exposure and severity separately before setting priorities.
Open lesson and practice →03Choose controls and check they work
Heavy files above head height: move them to suitable lower storage, assign someone to check shelving and review whether the new arrangement creates a lifting or access problem.
Open lesson and practice →04Housekeeping, lifting and comfortable work
A delivery worker has to move awkward cartons across a slippery route. Change the route or stop access, arrange suitable equipment and ask the supervisor to review the task before moving the cartons.
Open lesson and practice →05PPE, noise, dust and chemicals
A cleaner finds an unlabelled bottle beside bleach. Keep it out of use, tell the supervisor and ask for the product label and SDS. Do not mix products or guess first aid.
Open lesson and practice →06Electrical safety and energy isolation
A socket sparks behind a packing machine. Keep people away and contact the site emergency or electrical team. Do not touch the plug, socket or equipment.
Open lesson and practice →07Work at height, ladders and scaffolds
A worker wants to stand on a chair to check a sign. Ask whether it can be inspected from floor level. If height access is needed, get the task assessed first.
Open lesson and practice →08Vehicles, lifting operations and excavations
At a logistics yard, a shortcut crosses a forklift turning area. Use the marked route and tell the supervisor if the official crossing is blocked.
Open lesson and practice →09Permits, confined spaces and hot work
Welding is planned near an area where a team is using solvent. Report both jobs and ask the permit team to coordinate them before either affected task proceeds.
Open lesson and practice →10Fire, evacuation and first-aid awareness
An alarm sounds in staff accommodation. Leave by the safe designated route, report at the assembly point and tell the warden if someone may be missing.
Open lesson and practice →11Gulf heat, welfare and speaking up
A new worker becomes unusually quiet and confused during hot outdoor work. Stop the affected work, raise the alarm and follow the site heat emergency plan and responder instructions.
Open lesson and practice →12Investigate and write a safety report
A worker slips on an oily route. The spill is visible; a leaking machine is only a possibility until checked. Explore inspection schedules, repair ownership and spill response instead of simply blaming the worker.
Open lesson and practice →PThree final practical projects
